Let's Focus!

When we notice our attention is drawn to a particular element, we can direct our focus in a broad or narrow way. Both will benefit us.
With a broad or wide focus, we can see the element’s role and its value within the system.
With a narrow focus, we can see the inner workings of the element and better understand how it functions.
Both are important aspects to be aware of because an element can play different roles depending on its environmental and internal variables.
For example, if your attention is drawn to a certain flower that is surrounded by insect life, you may realize by researching insect identification, that one of its roles in the ecosystem is that it also attracts beneficial insects. If you then focus on the conditions in which the plant is growing, and whether or not it is responding well to them, then you are practising a narrow focus.
Focus is the bridge between observation and making a plan.
